Dr. Gaetano Morello, is a Board Certified practicing Naturopathic Physician, author, spokesperson, and researcher based in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. He received his Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology from the University of British Columbia and his doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the prestigious Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Morello is a contributing author to “A Textbook of Natural Medicine” the most definitive text on Naturopathic Medicine. He is also author of Whole Body Cleansing, and “Cleansing, an Inside Out Approach". Dr. Morello was the host and founder of one of the first and most successful Integrative Medical radio shows in Canada, the Health Counsellor.

For the past 22 years he has been practicing Naturopathic medicine and is currently in private practice at the Complement HealthCare Center in West Vancouver. Dr. Morello has been a noted pain specialist for the last 2 decades and introduced the “Verga Method” to North America in 1998. The Verga Method is a medical technique for the treatment of herniated discs. Since its introduction this system is now being implemented in a large research project at Vancouver General Hospital, the largest hospital in Canada. 

In the last 10 years Dr. Morello has focused a majority of his practice on gastrointestinal health and chronic diseases. He has utilized the latest in research and implemented unique methodologies for positive clinical outcomes. This passion for result oriented integrative medicine has led him to become part of the newly formed and only Complex Chronic Disease Program at Woman’s Hospital in Vancouver. This is the only hospital in the world where research and treatment programs for patients suffering from Lyme Disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and ME are offered. Dr. Morello is the first Licensed Naturopathic Physician to hold such a position as a clinician in a major hospital in North America. Always wanting to advance the quality of how Naturopathic medicine is practiced, he was appointed as Examiner for the Quality Assurance Committee to the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia.

For the past 20 years Dr. Morello has been educating pharmacists, physician, nutritionists and the lay public on the benefits of Natural Medicine in the United States, Canada and abroad. 

The foundation of Dr. Morello’s belief’s in integrative medicine comes from the simple premise that the body has an innate ability to heal itself once you give it the proper environment. He has held this premise through most of his career, and recently been supported by the plethora of new science in the field of epigenetics. So the new understanding in medicine is that DNA (our genetics) is not our destiny, but rather that our environment (the air we breathe, the food we consume, the nurturing we receive) really determines who we become.

His treatment modalities encompass this foundational belief one that he instills in his patients to empower their ability to achieve optimal health. The journey to health is about empowering, it’s about learning and it’s about changing the way we think and feel about health. Dr. Morello, like most believes that health is an incredible gift and that we should do everything we can to keep it for the rest of our lives.
